I am not against anyone in any part of the world eating an animal which
the rest of the world may feel to be strange (such as dog meat) but I
believe that food animals have rights from beginning to end. In the case
of whaling, their slaughter is not humane and certainly not quick. Food
animals anywhere deserve better.
That argument aside, the IWC copy
owes marine life protective measures and by allowing commercial whaling
that will not happen. Have you watched The Cove with Ric O barry? There
are member countries of the replica IWC watches with no whales in their nearby waters
and they have no interest in the cause of the IWC copy. They are there as
they have been supported by other countries who have an invested
interest in whaling and need their vote.
I’m so glad this article
made it to the first page. I hope it won’t be the last on the subject.

The watch that saves the day…
Commenting on the partnership, Benoit de Clerck, President of IWC North America said, “In each of his films, and especially in 2012, Roland Emmerich has shown not only an impressive skill for story, but also incredible technical capabilities to realize the visual effects he’s envisioned. IWC shares his passion for innovation, precision, fine details, and craftsmanship, so we’re thrilled to play a role in the film and support its release.”
Apocalypse and sweeping special effects are Emmerich’s forte – he directed “Independence Day” and he produced “The Day After Tomorrow”. “2012″ also stars Amanda Peet, Danny Glover, and Wood Harrelson. The film is directed by Roland Emmerich and written by Roland Emmerich & Harald Kloser. The film is produced by Harald Kloser, Mark Gordon, and Larry Franco. “2012″ opens November 13.
